The Venue Dell’s latest Android-based smartphone has just been officially introduced in Korea through major carrier KT. The announcement does not reveal a certain launch date for the device, but it does mention that it will hit the shelves at the end of December. The Venue is the Android version of Dell’s Venue Pro featuring Windows Phone 7, which was launched on the market back in November. Unlike Venue Pro, the Android-based smartphone does not come with a full QWERTY keyboard.

Though, most of the features are pretty much the same as Dell Venue is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor and features a 4.1-inch curved AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors, 480 x 800 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass that protects the display. Obviously, it runs on the Android 2.2 (Froyo) platform out-of-the-box, but there is no word on a potential upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread yet.

The full specifications of the smartphone are yet to be revealed, but an earlier FCC filing for Dell Venue mentions GSM/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA support. It looks like the Koreans have a knack for renaming every smartphone that is made available locally, so Dell Venue will be known as ‘Benyu’, most likely because they have a slight pronunciation difficulty with the original name. The smartphone will be available at the end of December for 700,000 won (roughly $600).

This Android phone comes with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, HSPA connectivity and Bluetooth capabilities. Internet browsing is faster with up to 14.4 Mbps, which can be considered the fastest smartphone yet. This is exactly what I need specially when I’m not at home and needs to check my emails and blogs.

But, it also features 480 X 800 WVGA high-resolution 3.7″ screen for the ultimate gaming experience. And, I can also store quite a number of data with its 512 MB ROM and 576 MB RAM internal memory that can be expanded up to 8 GB with the included MicroSD card. 32 GB is also possible, but is sold separately.

Well, Htc desire 2.2 is indeed one awesome piece of technology. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I just wonder if I can buy the phone without a plan. I love having a prepaid as compared to postpaid I’m not a frequent phone user that it why it takes almost five years before I started planning to buy a new one. I may be left out, but at least I make the most of my money’s worth.

One of the more recent ways to personalize your phone is to have an individual cellular phone ring tone; I doubt if anyone could have predicted just how popular this would become. Of course this does make your phone just that little bit different from the guy next to you. The devices and software becoming available to ensure that you are able to install these ring tones is becoming numerous and easier to use.

Transferring files from one device to another was a problem at first but thanks to ring tone converters, that is no longer the problem it once was. Converters do more than just transfer the sound file because they also help to download them from sites.

To ensure no-one misses out the cellular phone ring tone converters can be used with phones from virtually all manufacturers. Some older or more basic models may not have a built in programs but it may still be possible for you to use the existing phones music creator. Over time, cable connections and even wireless free infrared are becoming obsolete with newer ring tone converters using other methods to transfer files between phones.

Cell phones with built in sound composers are becoming the new way to have that individual sound. This is not as gimmicky as you think with many really good ring tones having started out as a creation of someone with a ring tone composer. The latest software also has this capability so there is no need to worry about creating a cellular phone ring tone if it does not have a composer.

Sounds that can be sued on phones are also available at an ever increasing number of internet web sites which now cater for the almost insatiable desire for this new craze. Some sites download the ring tone via SMS, others with the converter and some still use the old fashioned way of downloading it to your personal computer.

Whatever you want to do, there is a great deal of choice now with Internet sites, friends or you can do it yourself. Having a cellular phone ring tone and wallpaper is a good idea; however, you may first check your phone before you even think of adding anything new because editing and downloading sound files may require software that your cellular phone model does not support.

One major online company that offers 100% free ringtones is Myxer. They allow you to browse songs over the Internet and decide which song best suits you. They have songs arranged by genre and while they are not from major artists you can find some great new music and have a ringtone of the new artist on your cell phone.

In order to use Myxer and other sites you typically have to just enter your cell phone number that you want the ringtone to be delivered to and they send it. You will need to be able to access the Internet from your phone so if you have an older phone then this type of ringtone downloading may not work for you.

BlackBerry and Android platforms received new versions with mainly bug fixes. The latest 1.4.1 release for BlackBerry addresses some bugs encountered by users, such as the empty title issue for blogs with the “Site Title” field set to an empty value, a problem in the comments screen that didn’t allow editing of comments with special characters within the URL or e-mail field, as well as other minor bugs. Also, the update also delivers a better integration with the VideoPress service and the WordPress.com Space-Upgrade option, as well as support for the blog shortcut icon.

The Android build, now at version 1.3.5, has a longer change list, including: more stable preview of blog posts, a fix regarding multi-language support which made long strings of text break the interface, a patch for an issue which caused the option to turn off the Mobile Theme to randomly disappear, and another one for the occasional adding of random extra paragraph HTML tags when editing a blog post.

Furthermore, the update deals with two crashes which occurred when working with very large images of over 8Mb, and when switching the data connection type during a process (e.g. switching from WiFi to 3G). Apart from these fixes, the release also makes it easier for users to deal with comments. Newly added feature makes the actual text of new comments appear in the Android notification bar.

The latest mobile versions of WordPress can be downloaded here: Blackberry and Android

After teaming up with Microsoft to offer mobile office software on a wide range of its handsets, the Finnish company might have decided to enforce the alliance by planning to release a Windows-based smartphone.

Though there are doubts that we will see a Nokia Windows-based smartphone this year, especially now that Microsoft gave up on improving its mobile operating system and is currently concentrating on the new Windows Mobile 7. What I’d really like to see is a Nokia smartphone running the new Windows 7 platform. As a matter fact, I think that, if we were to see a Nokia device running Microsoft’s mobile OS, that would most likely be Windows Mobile 7 and not an older 6.1 or 6.5 versions.

Besides Nokia already sells its 3G booklet, which runs the Windows 7 operating system, the presentation slide could refer to this device or to some future tablets that it might intend to launch. Either way, we will probably find out what’s the truth behind the Nokia- Microsoft alliance until the end of the year. For now company’s politics do not allow any comments over rumors over the Internet, even though the slide page is real and it was presented by one of the Nokia officials.

The latest buy-one-get-one offers, as well as other price cuts, have led to a drop of 3 percent in the average selling price for mobile phones in the third quarter of the ongoing year, compared to the same time frame a year ago.

The NPD Group shows that the average purchase price during Q3 2009 was of US$85 in the US, while a year ago the price was of US$88. However, the smartphones accounted for a larger part of the mobile phone market. The report shows that 28 percent of handset sales during the third quarter of the year were smartphones.

NPD’s Mobile Phone Track also shows that smartphone price cuts made by carriers drove the handsets like the Blackberry Curve, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G to the top of selling charts. On the feature phones area, LG is the dominating handset vendor, with LG enV3 and LG enV Touch at the top. As for the mobile accessories market, it reached $2.3 billion in Q3 2009, marking an increase of 12 percent year on year.

I don’t know if it’s just the battery or the phone itself that causes the problem. Well, it goes like this. Every time I go out of the house, I make sure my phone is fully charged. But, when I used it to call someone or somebody is calling me, it dies out. When I check it, the battery life is already consumed. A second call is no longer possible.

That is why I am thinking of purchasing a new one. But, I can’t decide, which is better. There are too many to choose from blackberry, Nokia, LG, Iphone, Samsung, and so on. From one brand come several models, which will surely overwhelm me in the process.

I guess this will require several days before I can find a phone that I will like. For now, I am not sure what brand or model it is. One thing is sure; I want something that has features that I often use like internet.
