Set you mind as eases as AMD released its VISION platform portfolio for laptops and desktops, PC suppliers have since been going out of their way to reveal systems based on them. Now, it seems that Toshiba has finally decided to take its turn, by adding a number of new options to its Satellite Pro business laptop lineup. To be more specific, the PC maker has unveiled four new notebook PCs that “offer the essentials to easily manage today’s demanding business applications in small offices.”
The new model of Toshiba’s Satellite Pro are C650/C650D, L630, L650/L650D and L670, each of which has a screen size of 15.6, 13.3, 15.6 and 17.3 inches, respectively. They all have largely similar specifications when it comes to the internal circuitry and the only difference between the “D” versions and the base ones is that the former have Athlon II central processors at their core, whereas the latter run on Intel Core i3 or Core i5 CPUs.
All mobile PCs have the DirectX 11-capable ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145 discrete graphics as an option, but the Intel Core-based machines can simply settle for the Intel GMA HD if customers so wish. Other specifications include up to 8GB of RAM, an LED-backlit LCD screen with a resolution of 1,600 x 900 or 1,366 x 768, an optional Blu-ray burner and all the usual I/O and connectivity capabilities. Toshiba even offers its Media Controller software, meant to stream content to other networked devices.
