Toshiba has really caught my attention with these new Brain Wave Visualizer headphones, because I would be more than curious to see my brain activity on my computer’s screen while listening to different styles of music.
Upon launching these headphones, the company had medical intentions though, not curiosity-related ones like my superficial self. They have a sensor, which can monitor brain waves mounted on their chassis and use a Bluetooth-powered dongle to connect to your PC and show you some of your waves. They come with the software that understands the sensor, which you simply install on your computer so that you can benefit from real-time information. They can be used while watching movies or playing games, or who knows what else. It is only up to your imagination how to use them.
Although this seems creepy at first, it is really a good idea that I can see applicable in prisons, for example. If the Bluetooth system could be linked to a general computer that has all the inmates in a database, a very slight change in their brain activity, towards violence, could be easily signaled. Of course, they will have to convince to use the headphones at all times.
