the Debut of AMD Radeon HD 5700-SeriesThe world’s second largest processor vendor, Sunnyvale, has just announced the official expansion of its updated line of DirectX 11-capable graphics cards, with the introduction of the new Radeon HD 5700-series. The new releases have already been made official by a number of the company’s board partners and include two new cards, the Radeon HD 5770 and the Radeon HD 5750, both of which are aimed at the mainstream market.

Both cards have been designed using AMD’s latest 40nm manufacturing technology and are built to support the upcoming DirectX 11-enabled applications. As far as technical specifications go, the two Radeon HD 5770 and Radeon HD 5750 can deliver 1.36 TeraFLOPS and 1.008 TeraFLOPS of performance, respectively. While the first comes with a factory clock speed of 850MHz, the second has been clocked at a cooler 700MHz. There are 800 Stream processing units in the HD 5770 and 750 Stream processing units in the HD 5750, while the memory clock has been set at 1.2GHz and 1.15GHz, respectively.

Although AMD took its time to officially announce these two cards, reviews of the two have hit the web since early last week and most of the results place the two cards as a noteworthy product for mainstream users looking to upgrade their computer systems with a product that offers support for future applications.
