lifestyle and technologies today!

Today with our current lifestyle and technologies there are as many as two in three men have unhealthy cholesterol levels. Take steps to lower them over a five-year period and you have a 30 percent chance of living longer.

Cholesterol being fatty in nature doesn’t dissolve in the blood. Instead, it hitchhikes around the body on clumps of protein called lower density lipoproteins (LDLs). However, LDL can leave a fatty plaque on the walls of the coronary artery – which is why it is called bad cholesterol.

To lower LDL you need to cut down your intake of saturated animal and dairy fats because these stimulate the level to produce more LDL. Cut back on butter, cream and food containing them. And choose lean meats rather than fatty cuts. Diets high in peanuts and other sources of mono-saturated fat are just as efficient in reducing LDL cholesterol as low-fat diets. And a very low fat diet actually raises heart-threatening triglycerides (a bad blood fat) by 11 percent while a diet with peanut butter lowers them by 13 percent. Living healthy, exercise and take in diet supplements especially in this time of high technological world. Put in a little effort to live healthy and longer.
