Intel officially announced the launch of its latest generation central processing unit, dubbed Core i7.This is the most advanced processor and the most sophisticated in the world. It packs new technologies intended to boost performance of up to 40% over existing products without increasing power consumption.
The chip has been packed with a lot of new technologies that help it deliver leveraged performance, including Intel’s unique Turbo Boost Technology meant to adjust the clock speed of one or more of the four individual processing cores to boost performance, without increasing power consumption. The Intel Quickpath Technology is meant for speeding the transfer of computer bits and bites in and out of the processor, while the Hyper-Threading Technology allows for multiple computing threads to run simultaneously on the processor.
Immersive 3-D games will also register unrivaled faster performance from the Core i7 processors. On both the 3DMark Vantage CPU physics and AI tests, popular industry computer benchmarks that measure gaming performance, the new Intel chip performs 40 percent faster than its predecessors.
