I absolutely say two thumbs up for the Steripen, a very nifty techno-toy. “What’s with that Steri-o-something?” we’re sure you’re wondering like I did when we first saw it. Well, the Steripen is a sterilization pencil, so to speak. It looks more like and electric toothbrush whose head has been severed, but people decided it was only fair to call it a Steripen and not a Sterielectric toothbrush whoseheadhasbeensevered. This is a tool for all those who are suspicious about any water other than the bottled one; yet it could prove quite useful when outdoors, especially in areas where water has a dubious quality.
Just fill a glass with water, turn on the Steripen and stick the pen-ish side in the water. The tool comes with a UV lamp spreading around rays of ultraviolet light which kill micro-organisms in the said water on site, rendering it safe for human consumption. The UV lamp comes with an eerie bluish glow which is quite cool. SteriPEN has been independently tested by four universities, which all found that it did indeed destroy 99.9999% of bacteria, 99.99% of viruses and 99.9% of protozoa. Wow! That is cool, isn’t that nice guys?
